Philanthropy & Activities

Today, though there are more Asian-interest fraternities then before, we are unique in that we are the only nationally recognized Asian Cultural Fraternity. To demonstrate our commitment to this goal, brothers of Pi Delta Psi at UMass Amherst have lead cultural workshops and participated in various Asian RSO's, from leading positions to volunteer activities. Examples: AASA + Asian Night, TSA, CSA, VSA + TET Show & KSA.

As the first Asian Cultural Fraternity on campus, we strive to break the negative stereotypes commonly projected on Asian cultures, while building a brotherhood and friendship that stands at an endless road.

Aside from cultural orientated activities, we are also proud supporters of the APIA vote campaign and numerous charities around the UMass Community. Our Fraternity's National Philanthropy is the March of Dimes (Pi Delta Psi is an officially recognized Team Youth Partner) and the Big Brother Big Sister of America program.

When we are not involving ourselves with cultural and philanthropy events, our Fraternity is quite social as we attend National Conventions, plan yearly formals, have mixers with sororities, get together for large television events, hanging out with alumni at Ben's summer house and organizing our annual ski/snowboarding trip to name a few. If you are a brother of Pi Delta Psi you will never have a dull moment in your college experience.

One of the philanthropies unique to this particular chapter and am especially proud of is the Toms Walk. Each year we as a chapter participate in this event where we collect donations and pledge to walk barefoot to raise money for shoes to give to children in third world countries. Click here for a short clip of Blake Mycoskie founder of Toms Walk introducing how this philanthropy was created and its history.
